Connecting Wales
Wales, a country situated on the southwest of Great Britain, is known for its hilly slopes and rugged coastline. The terrain is largely mountainous: its highest peaks are in the north and central areas, with Snowdon being the tallest of them all. Wales is a tranquil and sparsely populated country, which means that getting a wired connection or a decent data connection can be near impossible in the more remote areas.
Having reliable access to the internet is an essential part of everyday life, whether it’s at home or work. Just to show how important internet has become, the United Nations has declared internet access a basic human right.
Access Broadband Cymru (ABC) Scheme
The Welsh Assembly has recently announced changes to the continuation of their Broadband Support Scheme in Wales, now known as Access Broadband Cymru (ABC) Scheme.
Recent changes to the Welsh Government’s Access Broadband Cymru and Ultrafast Voucher Schemes means that all homes and businesses across Wales that cannot currently receive superfast broadband are now able to apply for a voucher worth up to £800.00, which can be used towards the set-up cost for a broadband service that can deliver speeds of up to 30Mbps.
How Satellite Broadband Can Help
Regular broadband is confined by location and where you live affects the speed of your connection. However, a satellite dish can gain two-way access to broadband services, even in the most remote areas of the world.
How to Claim
Check your eligibility criteria – you must be a resident or business in Wales, and your existing connection should be unable to achieve a step change of at least twice your current broadband speed.
Then contact us for your quote which you will need to submit as part of your application process. Once you have been accepted just contact us to arrange your installation.
If you don’t quite meet the requirements, then please consult our speed guide for tips on increasing your broadband speed.
